Drivers
Cade uses platform drivers to communicate with pinball machine hardware and simulators. Each driver implements a common set of device interfaces (switches, coils, lights, flippers, autofire, servos) so that game logic remains the same regardless of the underlying platform. Cade ships with three drivers: FAST Framework for physical FAST Pinball controllers, Visual Pinball for gRPC-connected virtual tables, and Virtual for in-memory simulation during development and testing.
- FAST Framework
Drive physical FAST Pinball controllers (Neuron) over USB serial with the FAST protocol.
- Visual Pinball
Bridge Cade to Visual Pinball X over gRPC — run a full table against a simulated playfield, no hardware needed.
- Virtual Driver
Simulate every hardware device in memory so you can develop and test .cade configs on any workstation.
