Showcade How-tos
Short answers to “how do I do X in the harness” — one job per page, a handful of steps, and a way to tell it worked. They assume you have show.cade.run open with a table loaded.
For the full surface of any editor, read its reference page instead: the Object Editor, Rules Editor, Lightshow Editor, and Sound Editor. For a guided, build-it-from- nothing walkthrough of Cade itself, see the tutorials.
- Place a scoring device
Drop a bumper onto the playfield and watch it score, without writing a rule.
- Draw a wall
Shape a lane with a straight or curved wall, and combine walls into one piece.
- Score a switch
Point a scoring rule at a device you placed, and change what it awards.
- Bind a light show to a switch
Author a small show and fire it from a device hit.
- Audition a sound
Build the smallest synth patch that makes a sound, and hear it without playing the table.
