Place a scoring device

Place a scoring device

You’ll add a pop bumper to the table and score points off it. This happens entirely in the Object Editor — no configuration file, no rule to write.

  1. Press E to open the Object Editor. The camera swings to top-down and the editor panel appears.
  2. In the Tools palette, press B (or click the Bumper chip) to arm the bumper tool.
  3. Click somewhere on the open playfield to drop it. The editor names it bumper_001 — that name is also its switch ID.
  4. Press E again to close the editor and return to play.
  5. Press S to start a game, then hold and release Space to plunge a ball at it.

You should see — the bumper kick the ball away, and the scoreboard’s Score jump by 500.

You didn’t write a scoring rule because the sample table already reserves one for each name the palette mints. Drop a Target instead and it scores 1000; a Switch scores 150. To change what a device is worth — or to make it do something other than award points — open its rule in the Rules Editor.
