Release Notes
Two things ship from this project, and they are versioned and released separately:
- Cade Runtime releases — the engine. It reads your
.cadefiles and runs the machine on your own hardware, cabinet or desktop. Current: v0.1.0 “Bagatelle”. - Showcade releases — the browser harness. It renders a table, simulates it, and lets you author rules, lightshows and sound for it. Current: v0.1.0 “Vitrograph”.
A cade version and a showcade version are two different numbers that move at their own pace. Upgrading one is not upgrading the other, so read the notes for whichever you are actually moving.
How each section is organized
Both are organized by version series — the MAJOR.MINOR line a release
belongs to. Each series page covers every release on that line, newest first, and
explains what the changes mean for a table you are already running.
Both products are pre-1.0, so every series so far is a 0.x line. While the
major version is 0, a new minor series is where behavior can change in a way
worth reading before you upgrade; patch releases within a series are fixes and
additions that ask nothing of you.
Getting a release
The runtime ships as prebuilt binaries — see the Downloads page for checksums and install steps for Linux and Windows. Showcade has nothing to download: it runs in the browser at show.cade.run, and the site is the release.
